Growing up, I thought my life was perfect. Well, at least close to perfect. My family is the absolute best; we are close. I grew up with my mom and my brother. Of course, my grandma, grandpa, aunts and uncles have been there too. Mom gets aggravated sometimes, especially when my grandma tries to tell her how to live her life; well that and when grandma tries to tell mom how to raise her kids.

You have to understand how our family dynamic works here. You see, my grandma feels like she has to control and manage everything. I mean everything. She almost acts like a matriarch with the control she feels she should have. My aunts let her take control for the most part. My mom, now she is a whole different story. My mom’s name is Jordan and she is a very strong, independent woman. Everyone in the family says she has always been that way. Stubborn, that is what grandma says mom is. I guess mom just marches to the beat of a different drummer. You know, the black sheep. It drives grandma crazy. Me, well I have grown up with them going head to head so it is perfectly normal for me...

...Never in my entire life, would I have ever expected the secret that has been kept from everyone to turn my life upside down. But it did. It shattered me and everything I ever believed in.
