2015 is already over halfway gone and I am still working on Mending the Wounds. I want to let the fans know that while it is taking a while to finish -- it will be well worth it. 

Mending is going to be an extremely emotional read for everyone as it showcases the trials and tribulations people endure during cancer treatments. Where Mending will stand out from other books with this storyline is that it will showcase multiple POV's and each persons reactions and emotions.

Please bear with me while I ensure that you will love Mending.

Author C.R.Gress March Updates

Well it's already March and boy does it seem that the year is already moving so fast.

I have finished recording an audiobook short named "Dominated by the Billionaire and the Shiek" and am patiently waiting for approval from the rights holder as well as ACX to perform their quality checks so hopefully I am looking at a two week window for it to be available for purchase.

I am also in the process of recording the third story in a four story bundle titled "Threesome Desires". This one is not due until the end of April but I want to go ahead and get it finished soon.

Don't think that I have give up on writing because that is so far from the truth -- I am diligently working on Mending the Wounds (Scars Series Book 4) but this is a very emotional book and takes quite a bit of finesse to deliver it the way I want it.

Another project I am working on is slowly formatting and uploading my first three books (Scarred, Wounded by Her, and Shattered) to Google Books, Nook, Barnes & Noble, iBooks and more so that they are ready with my latest enrollment in Kindle Select is up (April) so that I am not restricted to selling just on Amazon. Soon they will all be available anywhere you look.

My Review of the 50 Shades of Grey Movie

I have seen a lot of positive as well as negative reviews surrounding this movie and I must say that I decided that I would go in with an open mind. I have read all three of the 50 Shades books so I knew what to expect with regards to the movie. 

Let me start by saying that I questioned the lead actors before watching the movie but I am now convinced that they couldn't have found two actors to better suit the characters of the book. I also stand by my previous comments that more notable actors would not have been able to pull Christian and Ana better. There are times when our preconceived notions about actors/actresses effect our views of a movie. So "here's to Jamie and Dakota for portraying the characters as they were intended".

As far as the movie -- I loved it!!! Yes, there are parts of the book that have been left out as it happens many times when books are turned into movies. I went to see this with my husband, my mother-in-law and my father-in-law so I spent much of the ride home explaining to my mother-in-law a bit about what was left out of the movie and that she would get a better understanding by reading the books before the sequels come out.

Yes I did just say that I went to watch this movie with my in-laws and didn't feel the least bit wierd about it. I was actually intrigued to find that they seemed to like the movie and were asking questions about it.
With regard to the sex scenes -- they were great without being over the top. In fact, they portrayed the concept of BDSM wonderfully without making you feel like you were watching porn. Well Done.

I cannot wait to see the sequels to this movie even though I have read the books and know how it ends and hope everyone else that watches it loves it too.

Can I get everyone's attention???

Would everyone please bear with me for a moment to rant? I got home today to watch the news and had to take a moment to laugh before getting angry. At 40 years old I am appalled to see the ignorance and bigotry that burns brightly today. The thing is that the commotion is over a movie based on a book. Yes, I am referring to the 50 Shades of Grey movie. 
Before I go any further I would like to take the time to define two words for everyone taken straight from Dictionary.com:

Ignorant: adjective
1.
lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned:
an ignorant man.
2.
lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact:
ignorant of quantum physics.
3.
uninformed; unaware.
4.
due to or showing lack of knowledge or training:
an ignorant statement.

Bigot: noun
1.
a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

So now on with my rant…The news is showcasing the 50 Shades of Grey branding in stores as well as people who claim the movie glorifies sexual abuse. FIrst off — with regard to the branding of products in stores — whether you call it a sleep mask or a blindfold - it is still the same thing — stores have been selling sleep masks for years — now that it has the 50 shades of grey name attached it has suddenly become a bad thing. Guess what — it is still a sleep mask — and as far as placement in the store — blame the store — not the brand. Compare that to the KY brand — guess what — KY is a LUBRICANT — but it is placed in the baby isle — do you see anyone causing flames over KY — NO!!!!
My next issue is for those who say the movie glorifies sexual abuse. Maybe before you speak you need to actually take the time to understand the difference between sexual abuse and BDSM — the key difference between the two is CONSENT. I am in no way downplaying sexual abuse as it is horrible and unspeakable — what I am saying is that there is a big difference and by claiming they are one in the same shows me that you are an Ignorant Bigot. No you do not have to agree with everyone but it would make a world of difference if you actually took the time to LEARN something before you speak.

I liked this one better than the first one in this series, maybe it was due to he was more adult than Jordan was. I know she was younger and her character must act younger for me this one was much better. It was nice to read his side how he falls for a young lady and all the trying times he went through. These two people love each other so much, their love holds true for 18 years they just can’t be together. Each go on their own way but something always brings them back together. They can’t walk away and become great friends, at times it is more than friends. Whenever or whatever Jordan needs he is always there for her. Both move on to different people have a family but always seem to come back to where they started. As they find other people these people aren’t right for them, sometimes we do dumb things and must lay in our bed that we have made as we search for that one person who is our soul mate the one who brings out the best in us.

There is so much emotion in this book, so much pain you can feel it. Life deals so many hurtful issues and how we handle them makes us who we are. Will these two people ever get their act together or will the issue they make break them once and for all?

Gavin thinks he has finely the women of his dreams, than loses her at every turn. Life throws many curves but he keeps going knowing some day they will be together. When things do not add up and he looks into them he finds out Jordan hasn’t been telling it all. This shock will tear his family apart he moves on and puts a plan into action. I believe in the next book he will be bring Jordan down a peg or two as he moved to where she lives and confronts her. We will see this in book 4 I believe, I can’t wait to see how this ends. I do hope they can work this out but sometimes no matter how much we want sometimes the things we have done just can’t be forgotten and things just can’t be made right.

I need a little help from my fellow authors, bloggers, everyone.
Recently, I had a psychologist diagnose me with PTSD. The problem is -- what is PTSD.
I never realized the "down and dirty" of the disorder until recently.

Why MENDING THE WOUNDS will open your eyes about Breast Cancer

If you have read any of the Scars Series Books (SCARRED, WOUNDED BY HER, SHATTERED) you will know that Jordan has spent the majority of her life fighting to keep her head above water and doing everything in her power to "keep the ones she loves from being tainted by her life" The first three books give us many mistakes, many sorrows, and many things that could have been avoided. 

In MENDING THE WOUNDS -- Jordan will not have the chance to run and hide, nor will she be able to shut people out. They are not going to let her -- regardless of how hard she tries to. Jordan thought she has been through hell in her life...Nothing she has ever experienced will compare to what lies ahead and much to her dismay, she is going to have to learn to lean on someone.

Why did I choose this storyline? Well I have friends who at some point in their life or another have dealt with cancer of any kind either through friends and relatives or by their own treatment. The friends I have who have actually been through treatment have taught me a very valuable lesson...treatment is only a quarter of what you actually go through. The other 75% deals with self-esteem, no longer feeling like a woman, people treating you differently (good and bad) and many more which will be highlighted in this final book of the series. To those whom I have personally been blessed to know while going on your own journey, I hope I do every one of you justice.
