The moment Gavin walked through the door with Layla, my heart stopped. I knew what they were there for; I figured she would look like her mother, and Jordan is beautiful. Never in my life would I have thought I would instantly fall in love with the young woman who walked in the door behind him. I expected him to bring in a young girl, possibly early teens; not a young lady whose mere presence froze me in my tracks. Gavin noticed my body’s response immediately and had raised his eyebrow at me. I knew he was protective, that was one of reasons why we couldn’t understand how Lisa didn’t notice his actions around Jordan, but his facial expression took protective to a-whole-nother level. I had to instantly look away for fear of being knocked out by Gavin.

That’s when Layla shook my hand and my knees almost buckled. Never in my entire life has anyone’s mere touch sent such a shock throughout my body. The entire time I was taking the swabs, I found myself wanting to be as close as possible to her. I had to hold my breath when I swabbed her cheek; being so close to her, she smelled so much like vanilla that I longed to bend down and taste her lips. Every time she would exhale it felt like she was singeing the hair on my body, one follicle at a time.

Gavin watched me like a hawk the entire time we were in the lab.

Talk about big brother always watching.

The way he kept leering at me made me feel like a damn pedophile. I was relieved when I finally finished all of the needed documentation and sealed the samples. Of course it was short lived since Gavin felt the need to wait and walk me out of the lab. That was the most painful walk I have ever performed in my life. My damn dick was hard as steel from being so close to Layla and there was no way in hell I could adjust myself without Gavin picking up on my predicament. I swear it felt like I was walking to my own execution.

By the time we made it out to the parking lot, my body was numb from over-stimulation. I almost lost my nerve, but I managed to slip Layla a note with my phone number before she got into her car. I knew before she even backed out of the parking space that Gavin noticed and it was time to pay the piper. The minute her car was out of sight, Gavin turned to me.

Tomorrow, September 10, 2014, I will celebrate my 39th birthday as well as my husband, Jason, and my 10th wedding anniversary. I as well as we (Jason and I) have been through some great times as well as some not so great times but we have made it through. My grandmother congratulated me and Jason lst night for making it to our 10th anniversary and that she and my grandpa are the only other couple in the family who have reached 10 years (though they have well surpassed that milestone).

I want to say that I love my family and friends and am excited to see what the next 39 years of my life will hold as well as I look forward to another 10 years with Jason (to say the least).

“If you say so. Anyway, where was I? I thought we had something special, but apparently it wasn’t enough for her to stay. She got into trouble and the next thing I knew, she was gone.”

“But why didn’t you go after her?”

“I did. I mean, I tried. Jordan just disappeared. I looked for her, I went to her house, I went to her cousins, I even went as far as pulling a few of her friends over. I got nothing until after she was long gone. Then it was too late. She had enlisted in the Navy and…well, I’m ex-military, there was nothing I could do.”

“That’s bullshit and you know it. You could have found her and went to her.”

“I could have, yes. But I knew deep in my heart that she was better off. Jordan is and always has been too good for this damn town. She is better than me, so I let her go. It hurt like a bitch, but it was for her own good.”

“Apparently there was something in this town because she came back.”

“Yeah, and she was married. I had to step aside.”

“That’s it? That’s all you have to keep me away from Layla?”

“Please don’t do this Garrett. Layla is like Jordan; she deserves more than what this fucking town can offer.”

“You’re wrong, Gavin. I refuse to wind up like you, sitting here after twenty years drowning your broken heart in alcohol.” I stand and pull two twenties out of my wallet and throw them on the bar. “Do you need a ride?”

“No, I’m fine. I just need to clear my head. I think I will take a walk down by the river.”

“Okay, if you’re sure.” I turn to leave when Gavin grabs my elbow.

“Garrett!”

I pull my arm out of his grip and look over at him. “Yeah?”

“Please don’t.”

“Gavin, stop. I cannot say for sure if anything will come of this, but I will be damned if I don’t see where this goes.”

“If you hurt her; I swear, I will kill you.”

I don’t even acknowledge his threat before I leave the bar. By the time I crank the truck up, Layla is the only thing on my mind.

It has been a busy few weeks but I am still alive and kicking. Currently I am working on "Shattered" in hopes to have it out for everyone soon. I recently published "Cicatrizado" on Amazon and am currently in negotiations with someone to produce the audiobook.

I have also been playing around with the thought of offering formatting, editing, and publishing assistance for a nominal fee to indy authors.

The erotic scenes were the best parts.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Scarred?

Two women and a man have a party in a bathroom. There's drinks, drugs, and some group mingling. It was hot action.

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Saucedo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've listened to many of Jennifer Saucedo's audiobooks. In Scarred, she delivers another high quality performance.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved the audiobook. While I have recently purchased the Wanted Series Box Set, I couldn't skip out on the recorded version.
The narrators were amazing bringing the story to life where I felt as if I were the one experiencing the thoughts, actions, and emotions. Of course, the narrators couldn't have done it without an absolutely awesome book by Kelly.
Now that I have finished with the audiobook, I can move into the box set and read the remainder of the series.

What did you like best about this story?

From my understanding this was a first book for this writer, and over all it was a great first! I would have liked a bit more detail for so many years but still worth listening to and the narrator makes it fun (the parts that can be fun) clearly the first chapter is meant to be read very dead pan but then chapter 2 everything changes!! I loved it!

First off, I want to say that I had things I had wanted to get done today (my day off). Too bad that never happened.
This was an awesome book. The author in me catches typos and grammatical errors which is why this is a 4 star rating rather than 5 star.
I started reading this book this morning with the premise of seeing what the book was like before working on things around the house but never got around to putting it back down. I loved the storyline and cried at a few parts of it.
I highly recommend this book to others because it is an awesome read and will keep you on the edge of your seat -- Personally I think the storyline would make a great movie.

Great Book. Nothing fancy just a great story that is so easy to get into, I was done before I knew it and wanted the next book A.S.A.P. 

Life is good at throwing us curve balls some of us take the bat and hit it out of the park, some of us not so much. Jordan has had life throw her some nasty fastballs but still survives.
Scarred really was a great story that was so easy to read I finished it in about 3 hours. And every minute was worth it.

Every story has two sides, thats how the saying goes. Well this is Gavin's side. He thinks he has finally found the one and only, only to lose her at every turn.
Life throws him some nasty turns but he just keeps rolling with the punches, because one day he and Jordan will finally be in the same place at the same time. BUT WHEN.
After getting the biggest shock of his life he finds Jordan left some details out.
I cannot wait to read the next book to see just how he works those details out with Jordan. She really does have a " coming to Jesus" moment due..
Just read it, you will love it and it will be worth every minute you take.
